Alan has transformed my life by helping me to find the correct tint to help my severe migraines brought on by bright light, sunlight and even white paper. I really recommend Alan to those of you who could be helped with Irlen tints.

I wouldn't recommend this diagnostician to anyone. In April 2022, I contacted him via email for an assessment and he told me that, in order for him to put me on his schedule list, that he just needed me to request him to do so. I requested not once but twice that I'd like to be put on his schedule. The first time, he didn't acknowledge the request or tell me of his availability when I asked. But, that wasn't a problem considering I went on to spend a few months selecting some more suitable and better-fitting frames before proceeding with an assessment. I made this decision after the diagnostician told me to send photos of me wearing the glasses I intended to use to his Whatsapp and then him saying they wouldn't be suitable because they were rimless. I let him know that I would be back in touch after I found suitable frames that fit my small face and weren't rimless. When I found them, I sent him a photo of me wearing them via Whatsapp and he confirmed rather passionately that they were a suitable style for the lenses to be tinted properly. I then emailed him, telling him I was ready to proceed with my assessment and requested him to add me to his schedule. He didn't respond and, after a month passed, I sent him another email to chase up a response and further state that I was ready to book an assessment and wanted to know what his availability was. A month later, he responded with "If this is still required, I can add you to my schedule and this will highlight some suitable dates." It's a no-brainer that someone with Irlen Syndrome would indeed still require Irlen glasses. So, I responded with "Yes, I still require Irlen glasses for my Irlen Syndrome. Please add me to your schedule. Also, if I may ask out of curiosity, why did it take 2 months for you to get back to me?" and he then told me that if it's a 'problem' then let him know and he won't add me to his schedule. Overall, I found his behaviour and responses odd and uncalled for. He didn't apologise for the delay in responding and/or offer a brief unprompted explanation as to why it took months for him to get back to me and not once did he add me to his schedule and tell me his availability. It seemed he was reluctant to or couldn't be bothered to take me on as a client. His customer service was non-existent and there was 0 passion or willingness to provide me with the help I needed for Irlen Syndrome. From April to November 2022, He wasted 7 months of my time, just to not be able to provide the service that he said he would. But, I got odd vibes from this man in general. So, not having my assessment with him was probably a blessing in disguise. At the time of writing this review, he is the only diagnostician that travels to London to carry out an assessment (the other diagnosticians are based more than 3 hours away from London and/or don't travel) so my choices were limited. If this weren't the case, I definitely would have moved on to a different diagnostician much sooner and, if there weren't only positive reviews painting his service to be amazing, I would have avoided contacting this diagnostician altogether. So, please take this review as a warning.
Edit: This diagnosticians response to my review says it all. He claims that we 'both' had a lucky escape when I have not done anything but write an honest review to help others. Yet, he provided below average customer service with lacklustre responses which left me with no choice but to look for a diagnostician that was miles away from me. Rather than saying he didn't want to take me on as a client (I can't think of why this would be the case) he behaved in a difficult manner which made it difficult to make any progress on booking an assessment.

What an incredible experience. I can't recommend this place enough. I heard of irlen syndrome through a friend and booked in to see Alan as soon as I could. Alan is very welcoming and knowledgeable. My glasses arrived today and they are amazing! The whole world feels calm and relaxing, a real life changer. If you feel you may have irlen syndrome do not hesitate in booking, it'll definitely be worth it.

Fantastic diagnostician. My son had another great assessment and it is heartwarming to hear him say how much better his sparkling new lenses make him feel. I could not recommend Alan enough. He is absolutely amazing!
